Video card driver

Long story short I have a Gateway GP7-600 that will not find this driver and install it for me. I am running a fresh windows xp home edition and I installed a generic video card because the video connection on the mb is messed up. Went to gateway support which they provided a driver download for me but when I go to install it it cannot find the driver. Dont know the manufacturer of the video card so I cannot give you much there. But , it does have a logo stamped on it which resembles the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team. Hope this is enough info.

 

You should be able to run a hardware info tool like Unknown Devices or Everest or something similar to at least get a chipset. Many video cards (especially the older ones) will post the chipset and megabytes on the screen right when the PC is turned on, but if your monitor is slow to warm up, you may not see this info. You could also run a bootable system info tool like AIDA16 on the UBCD... here some links to the programs mentioned:

Thanks dlb for the links. Upon further investigation of the computer in mention I found more going on . The video connection on the mb itself has been broke away from the board on the terminal so I'm not sure if this is creating the issue. The computer will work but after it seems to get warm this is when things occur. I'll be posting more as soon as I can figure out if I should trash this mb and start from scratch or try to work around with what I have. Any suggestions would be apperciated.
