I bought a computer a couple years ago and the video card fried in it, so I been using the onboard card but lately I been having video lag (think thats what it is) I try to play a game and if I open or close a browser the game freezes but I can move the mouse around fine.

I recently reformatted and the problem is still there I have a 450watt power supply in right now and 2gb of ram so I'm guessing video card might be the culprit. any ideas or suggestions?

It looks like any PCI Express card should work just make sure your PSU is good enough.

Also it's important to have a quality PSU. If you are using the stock PSU I doubt it would be powerful enough for a decent video card. Tho the wattage is enough the power supply may supply unstable voltages and noise power which will shorten the lifespan of your components.
