Video Card Help

Hello my name is chris, I have recently had problems with my video card driver. I work to much and do not have the time to blindy try fixing it though I have tried, and ati has given me very poor support.
So to give a breif explanation of my system

Atholon 3800 x2 64
Asus ar mvp mobo 2 gigs ram
2 raptors currently un raided,
I am running xp 64
have a ati x850 pro 256, PCI-E made by powercolor

So for some reason i am having serious driver problems, lets see it will either detect 2 video cards; one as a primary one as a secondary, and at the same time it will read 2 unrecognized video cards.

I have tried the newest x64 drivers from ati. I think the current version is 7.6 and was advised some where to try the 5.4 catalyst software.

When I boot up I get many device error messages. Though my computer will run a few games, some will just get really bogged down, though when I was running the regular xp my system was stable. i have done numerous reformats.
I would like some advise perhaps there is something I am missing, or perhaps there is a stable driver out there made by a 3rd party.
