    Hey guys,
Having a problem with a recently built computer. About half the time on startup, I'm receiving a blue screen with a note about "ati2dvag.dll", and a note that my hardware has entered an endless loop. It then instructs me to restart.

The other half of the time, the computer starts up, but then either does not display Windows itself (black screen only after the Windows logo), or displays the login screen but locks up completely. Sometimes, it'll run for a few minutes before locking up.

    Some details on my hardware:

Motherboard: ASRock DUAL 775-VSTA mboard with 3.60Ghz Pentium IV chip.
    RAM: 2GB DDRII RAM.
    Video: ATI Diamond X300SEHM-PCIE 256MB.

Motherboard is running the latest BIOS, and video card is installed in Windows using the newest driver available.

    Any ideas, or further questions?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike

I did a Google search on the dll file and found this as the third result (actually, Google found a ton of :

Maybe you already tried that, but I figured it was worth posting. I've also heard that doing various things with the ATI control panel helps, including removing it.
My first guess is the driver. Try reinstalling or using the "stock" version if you have the support CD. Maybe installing over the old version screwed it up, so you'd have to uninstall the driver before reinstalling (whether the display would work when there's no driver I don't know, seems iffy).

I'm sure someone else will provide a more specific explanation, but hopefully this will be a good place to start.

Just for the record here, the 1 suggestion I got here did not fix the problem, as I don't even have the controller they're looking for. I changed the card out last night, for an NVIDIA card, and it seems to be working fine at this time.
