Personally, I would say the ATI is the better product, however, that's out of preferance. I think they've got very similar specs, so in reality, choose the one you prefer.
If you were prepared to spend a bit more, the 9800XT is a better option, and is a hands down winner over the 5700Ultra.

I really do think it's down to preference. if you look at the VGA Charts 3, at tom's hardware guide - http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20031229/index.html - you'll see that the 9800Pro outperforms the 5700U. Of course, these results also would vary depending on your graphics setup (things like AA, AF, resolution, quality settings, etc), as well as the rest of your rig. If you have, for example, a P3 500MHz machine, it won't matter what kinda GFX card you have, as the cpu itself will cause a bottleneck.

Actually, to be fair, I have an ATI gfx card now, but my previous card (which actually was a 5700U) was pretty good. I just changed yesterday to an X800Pro, but only cause I could get it for free.

Not to be rude, but the link I posted above for you (in http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=476944&postcount=5), on the first page, there is a complete breakdown of stats for both cards (and a few more). It also benchmarks both cards for comparison.
You could at least look at replies before you ask a question that's already been answered.
