Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong or why this v card will not configure.

When I put this v card in my computor and hooked it up it seemed to work. I had visual display...etc but when I tried to play a game it was choppy and rough. Checked to make sure my onboard was diabled and didn't see it in my device manager but did see the new v card listed twice.

Next I tried to run the cd and couldn't..got message not compatible etc... however according to the manufacture it is compatible with my computor and operating syatem.

So now I'm back to my onboard and when checking my system info I've lost memory, my 2GBs are now 1.88 total and 1.00 GB free

Before I tried to add this new card I had 2.00GB's total and 1.88GB's Free

Any help on getting this card to work if possible and finding my lost memory would be much appreciated.

    My system info:
    Nividia Geforce 6150SE Nforce 430
    AMD Athlon(tm) 64x2 Dual Core processor 5000+ CPU:1 - 2.60Ghz
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    32 bit OS

    New V Card
    Radeon 9250
    256 MB/Mo DDR
    DVI/TV-Out
    PCI Version

The 1.88gb free RAM out of 2gb is because the onboard video is using 128mb (probably). This is easily checked in the BIOS, or by going to Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Adapter. Then look for how much RAM is used by the video (see screen shot attached). The Radeon 9250 is an older card and isn't a whole lot better than the on board video, and Vista should have built-in drivers for that old of a video card. But if not, try this driver:

    Thanks DLB,

Do I install the drivers prior to putting in the video card or after/?

I did update the drivers once the card was hooked up using the updater in my device manager but that didn't change anything.

Should there be 2 cards listed in the device manager/?
#1 was the Radeon Card and the other was the Radeon Card listed as a (secondary)

Should either of these be disabled or is that normal/?

There is a j2 jumper on this card what is it for and should it be moved/?

I would really like to try the Radeon Card but can not get it to work properly on my system.

    Thanks again, Mynuw
