    any suggestions?

i tried VDownloader, which seems to start out great, but then CRASHES halfway thru the DL.

Orbit, OTOH, seems to follow thru and DL right to the end. the problem is, it interferes with anything else i'm DLing off the web. for example, if i'm getting something off rapidshare or depositfiles or somewhere like that, they crash somewhere around the 40M mark.

they don't APPEAR to be DLing via Orbit (i know from experience that download managers cannot be used with these DLs), but still. just having orbit RUNNING is enough to crash the DL at the 40M mark.

actually, it doesn't even HAVE to be running. just having it INSTALLED derails a straight DL. when i UNinstall, the regular DLs proceed just fine, right up to completion.

so now i have to INSTALL Orbit whenever i want to snag a video, and UNINSTALL Orbit whenever i want to DL anything else. this is a pain beyond words!

    any thoughts/suggestions?

    TIA!

worse yet, i now find that all of the stuff i DLed with orbit LACKS SOUND!!!!

what's the deal here? i've tried VLC, i've tried WMP, i've tried GOM...the sound just ain't there....

anyone experience this before? i was tempted to start a "FLV -- No Sound" thread, but it seems to be an Orbit issue. older FLV files still sitting on my HDD play just fine.
