Video Download Grief

Gentlepeople:

I recently started having trouble with software created by SpeedBit, Ltd. entitled "DAP" (Download Accelerator Pro), and SpeedBit's Customer Support is an unfunny joke. Here is the scenario:

- While operating with I.E. 7 and DAP 9.1.0.4, video downloading was
working fine;

- Then I upgraded to "Premium," version 9.1.1.1, used in conjucntion
with I.E. 8, and downloaded ".wmv" video files were no longer correct
and/or valid for use with WMP; and

- SpeedBit's Video Downloader (a toolbar), for use with sites such as
YouTube, did not function whatsoever.

I did perform a codec update to my PC, but this did not resolve the problem. Does anyone possibly have any useful advice to offer?
