I've taken some videos with my digital camera of some skits we've done over the weekend.

Now, when I take the videos and then watch them on the camera there is plenty of light and everything can be seen clearly. However, once I upload them to my computer they become much darker and in some cases you cant even see whats going on.

Any suggestions on how to fix?

    Thanks :)

What format are the videos in ?

If you can import them into Windows Movie Maker, there's an effect in there that can brighten a video image to some extent.

If you know anyone with Adobe Premiere Pro (assuming it's a file format Premiere can import), there's an effect called Shadow/Highlight, which will do much to improve a video with low light levels.

They are imported as .avi files.

I use Windows Movie Maker, where is this effect? I must have missed it because I looked all over in Mover Maker for something like this.
