Video helicopter

i put this in drivers as hardware and software dont seem to fit this question !
when i play a video -mpeg or avi with my zoomplayer or windows media player i get a helicopter sound on video also a sound i can only discribe as a sort of squeeking a bit like a tape in a tape player thats getting chewed up
although if played though my dvd player via mpeg card(as below) -dvd or mpeg sounds fine and so all other sounds though computer via mic - cd player etc and windows sounds
does anyone know what causes this -i've tried reinstalling all the codecs i use and all my drivers are up to date
i never had this problem before and all the same videos played before though the same players with good sound

amd 1.47ghz
768mb ram
savage 4 graphicscard
hollywood realmagic mpeg card
via ac97 onboard soundcard
