Video monitoring software

I wonder if anyone can help, recently came across an advert for Video software that could play through surveilance video and locate only the sections of video that contain movement.
saving alot of time and avoiding having to sit through long recordings where there is nothing to be seen.
If I can find it again it would be ideal for searching through video recordings
I make at paranormal Investigations.
The only trouble is I cannot remember where I found it and searches have also failed to find it, have you heard of it and if so can anyone point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the info Tim, I already have motion detection software but the program that I came across would play a full lengh recording and find the parts that contain movement and save you from having to watch hours of video with nothing happening.
Motion detection is ok but I dont think it responds quick enough to catch quick or small movements that may only last a second or so because of the time it takes to realise and fire up the system to start recording.
Thats why I would prefere not to use motion detection and if you use a full recording what ever happens you catch it so then I just need a quicker way toe search video to find the event.
Which is what this program I found did. but I have lost the link to the paranormal webpage that I found it on and as you know theirs hundreds of paranormal pages.

Sorry Mate thats not the one Im after either.
Lets say Ive just done a paranormal investigation and I have taken video of a room from a fixed camera and got eight hours of video hopeing to catch something paranormal like a vase moving on its own.
This now means I have to sit and watch eight hours of video to spot anything that may have happened which will get very boring.
The program Im trying to find will play through the already recorded video and will sense when there is any change in the video and log the positions and save having to watch all the way through the recording.

Just came across this software mentioned on another site. Don't know if it works or not.

Vitamin D has a free starter version. It looks like it only works on 320X240 video but it has filters to look for certain things like people or unknown objects. Might be worth trying on a small video if you have one that contains some movement.
