    Hi

I would like to know if there's any good software that I can use to keep track of all of my videos and movies. Obviously, I expect to end up manually inputting the information, but I'd like something that ends up showing me everything I have, perhaps with the ability to put a thumbnail with each, and be able to sort different ways (i.e. Genre, Alphabetical, Year Produced, etc.).

I would prefer freeware, but if there's paid software that's much better, I'll consider that as well.

    Thanks.

    Hi

Try Windows Live Photo Gallery (its freeware also)

Does catagories not only for Pictures but Video also, with the option to tag media files for specific genres etc

Hmm okay, I figured that was just another photo editing program. I'll give it a shot, thanks.

    Hi mcsmc

Yeah it portrays itself as one (a photo editor), but its features are also a cataloging application, I find it quite powerful for this task.

You can caption videos, geotag, tag, sort by date, year, name, tag etc, you can also upload to skydrive to share the video or image, to uploading to social networking sites.

    Hey Dave,

Yeah... funny thing is, I've got it installed on the computer already, but I've never bothered to use it! I didn't have the updated version though, so I appreciate that link. Glad you mention all the functionality though, I hope it can make sense of all my videos. If you hadn't mentioned it, I probably would have never figured it out.

Hey no probs, it is one fo those apps that is easily overlooked.

Another one I have just noticed on my PC is DoubleTwist and likely installed to test this app but have not run through its settings as yet but does look as it it will catalog Video and Media as well.

It is another option but I feel that WLive Photo may do the job ok.

Cool, I'll try out Live Photo but I've downloaded DoubleTwist to try out in the future as well. I always like to have options!
