Hi everyone, I'm looking for some suggestions regarding a project I am working on.

I want to create a bunch of repeating clips showing rotating solid objects. I need an easily repeatable process as I'll need to make about a hundred of them all up.

I know there are some notched turntables out there that let you string a series of still images into a 'VR' type thing, but that is too detailed and far too labour-intensive for my needs.

What I would like to do is use a motorized turntable and shoot a short video clip of each object rotating, and then edit that into a constantly 'rotating' image or video format that I can use in an HTML page - preferably one that will look after itself and not require user involvement or run into browser / media player problems.

The idea of a gif appeals, as it is nicely universal and browser-safe, although the file sizes would presumably be pretty big (I'm thinking around 200 x 150 pixels, 3 seconds or so).

I haven't done any video or animation work, but I'll learn fast if I'm pointed in the right direction.

So any ideas, firstly on formats to consider, and secondly on software to accomplish the task?
