Video problem with 6800GT & nvidia 77.72 drivers.

I have just bought a Geforce 6800GT and it is working fine except for when I try to play a video in WMP or Divx. It looks very garbled but not choppy or slow. Like it's running in 256 color mode (not implying it is, just looks like it).

I am running:
P4 prescott @ 3.45Ghz
2gig dual channel pc3200 ram
XFX Geforce 6800GT
Windows XP SP2
Asus P4P800 SE
Nvidia 77.72 drivers

I tried uninstalling the drivers and looking at a video and it looked ok. Reinstalled the drivers and it's garbled again. I may try the 71.89 drivers next and see what happens.

Errr I'm on 71.89 and it works now. False alarm.

Yeah some Nvidia driver versions can be problematic and testing a few out can resolve many a problem.

Dunno if you notice but their is new 77.77 driver available today http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_77.77.html may be worth a try?

I got these today, miles better than the 71.89 drivers I was using.

Had the same problem, deleted display adpater and put the 71.89 back on, good as new
