Video problems

I recently acquired a A7V266-E ASUS motherboard with a AMD Athlon processor, 1.5GHz... and my problem is the power will come on and the everything works fine, the only problem is the video on it doesnt work, i used a GeForce 128 MB Nvidia video card on it. there is not a onboard video output area. what could be the problem? the monitor stays in the "sleep" mode.

On POST, do you get any beeps from the Bios?

Is the GFX card you used a known good working one? have you tried another GFX card.

Have you tried a different Cable from the Video Card to Monitor, also check for damaged pins in the connectors.

On the motherboard itself is their any physical damage to the board, capacitors or chipset? ( will need to look closely )

What I dont really get is your comment that you power up and everything works fine? or is it that when you boot up everything works ok like fans, hard drives etc and if you wait a while you hear the Windows OS startup sound ( only get this if the sound drivers are ok and sound not originally muted ) and the only thing missing is the Desktop on secreen?

He might want to check and make sure the video card is firmly seated in the slot.
I've made that mistake (where i didn't firmly seat the video card in the pci slot, I didn't have a agp card.
I made that mistake about 10 years ago.
