I updated my vista to Vista SP 1 earlier today and ever since i havent been able to run videos smoothly.

I can run them smoothly in Media Player and Real player, but online on sites like youtube and ign.com the videos play for about 2 seconds then stop.

Any ideas as to what the problem is?

I have broadband, and its never been a problem until now.

EDIT: Just checked to see if the videos were working properly now and they are, thanks for the suggestions.

Not sure what it was, i just turned my pc on this morning and tested it and it works fine.

    Hi

Even with broadband at times ISP connection speeds or connection to the host server could be bad, so maybe run a tracert to youtube or other video site next time.

    HI

Problem that many have are with Firefox and Flash, so would try and tackle this as the issue, so first off use the uninstaller from Adobe again, but make sure your browsers are all closed before running the tool, then goto this location C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash and delete all the contents of the flash folder.

Then re-install Flash again but this time run the installer as Admin, so right click it and choose Run as Admin.

Then try Video.... if still stuttering try this, open Firefox and paste this url in http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html and make sure that the two bottom options in Global Storage Settings are ticked, then http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html its the settinsg for storage to Flash, adjust the slider to say 10mb and as these are live changes just close webpage once done.

If you have many add-ons in Firefox, one of them could be causing this, so uninstall all apart from any that are linked to Video/Flash/Shockwave.

    Is your Firefox latest version?

Why not "use IE7" if it plays video from youtube ok ( cannot believe I actually typed this, not my normal reply but its a viable one so sorry )
