Video streaming, virtual movie theater question

Does anyone know of a service, or a piece of software, that would allow movies to be streamed privately via the web to two locations but in sync and with a common control panel.

The idea is that while I am away from my family we could both log in and watch movies together real time. So if one party had to pause it, it would also pause it for the other.

Presently we're both downloading the same movie and trying to watch it in sync while also having skype open and chatting, but because we're chatting, when it gets out of sync you can hear the soundtrack either ahead or behind the local one.

I'm just trying to recreate the family movie night where the films on and we're sharing the experience, shouldn't be too hard should it?
