Virtualbox?

Can someone explain what this is?
I've never heard of it, and doing an online search doesn't get me anywhere either, sadly.

Is it software that belongs to a program, is it malware, spyware, etc?

As I got downstairs, my partner informed that he left the error on the screen as he found it (the program apparently had crashed and showed the famous Windows error pop-up box-thingy, if you want to report it or not). "Virtualbox Headless" - and the last tiny bit I forgot to write down..

Any information is welcome, and appreciated.

It is a program allowing a windows user to run 'virtual' operating systems side by side. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VirtualBox )
If you never installed it then maybe it is malware.
To be sure you need to run all the steps here and then after you've done that start a new thread in the 'specialist' malware removal forum.

 

You cannot get a VirtualBox Headless error unless VirtualBox is installed. Or it was installed and not completely uninstalled.
Check Program Files for an Oracle folder. If it's not there I agree with MaxTurner and you should head over to the Malware Help - MG forum.
