virtumonde

I have recently been infected with the obnoxious virtumonde trojan. I have a new Dell XPS computer running Vista Ultimate with Windows Defender, Norton Internet Security , Norton Anti Virus and Spy Sweeper. I have contacted Dell On Call which said they can get rid of it with a set of tools they have for removal. Naturally this is for a price of $115 per incident or $229 for 5 incents within a 12 month period. By surfing the web re: Virtumonde I have seen that the best fix recently (4/2008) is to uninstall Java from add/remove progams and then if you really need Java to install the latest download . This method worked in excellent fashion for those who used it. In the interest of cost effectiveness I was going to try this before contracting Dell on Call.
