Hi, im new to the forum so please forgive me if i request anything out of line or such, i had a little reas round to grasp the rules and 'norm' so hopefully i wont!

Anywayz, i recently tried to get a crack (dont ask me why, i was desperate, should have known btter, and to be honest, did know better) and got invected during the process!!!

I have run around 8 anit virus/adware programs, and all have removed most of the infections bit by bit each, however i have one problem left that i cant seem to change, and neither can the software.

Everytime i log onto the net, my homepage has been hi-jacked and cannto be changed, it is set to 'about:blank', which then forwards me to: www(dot)sysnetsecurity(dot)com

can anyone suggest any action for removing this setting as i believe this still means a virus/adwrae is present that non of my prog's can detect/get rid off successfully!!!

The prgrams i have run include:
Spybot, Ad-Aware, Norton, Spyware Doc, and more!!! And i also ran the 'avenger' method posted on this forum as it was for a similar problem, but according to the log file it didnt find the file it was supposed to!

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR SPARING THE TIME TO READ/HELP! AND THANKS FOR A GREAT FROUM I LOOK FORWARD TO READING THROUGH!

    Hi and welcome

First run throught these steps www.syssecuritysite.com, safetydefender.com, SecurityBulletin.net - removal

then if still not 100% ok, run through the below guide, yes I know its a lenghty process but better to do things correctly 1st time to remove these pests... do pay close attention to the Hijackthis install and running steps, otherwise we are likely to ask you to run it again.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis
