Virus help please

A few days ago. I got three messages from my norton antivrus program stating the welchia.b.worm was found on my pc. The auto feature caught it. One of the messages states the worm was deleted, the other two say unable to repair. i followed Nortons repair instructions by updating definations and running full scan..No threats were found. I did the full scan in safe mode..No threats found..I downloaded the welchia b fix (turned off system restore)..It says welchia not found on my pc..Ran the fix in safe mode, again welchia not found on my pc...What is up? It seems like the auto protect feature will catch it after about 20 minutes of net browsing, but the full scan and the fix dont see it? Is it gone? What should i do? There are no instructions about editing the registry as a third option (besides full AV scan and fix) on nortons instructions. I see where the worm will delete itself june 1 2004. Would changing my settings to june 1st trick it into deleting?

 

you MUST download ALL the patches for your operating system using windows update
www.windowsupdate.com

this will patch the problem and you won't get the virus anymore like that.
