    Hi guys,

    Sorry for making you guys work during the holidays. Thanks in advance!

    Attached are copies of my logs.

    I haven't used this computer for years due to the viruses the laptop accumulated. Basically I get pop ups on and off, and I can't seem to remove some application from my Control Panel. I tried to remove it before but all it did was open my IE and it forwarded me to a website (looks like a virus).

    Please help!

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box. Ensure you scroll down to select ALL the lines:
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Driver::
    Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper
    File::
    c:\windows\mfcrh.exe
    c:\windows\system32\appae32.dll
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\lixxtyxn.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ocyxmqrx.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ofwa.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ozciprty.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\vflsoofi.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\vyvcrvnm.exe
    c:\windows\cjxbq.dll
    c:\windows\crnz.exe
    c:\windows\duvau.dll
    c:\windows\ejryt.dll
    c:\windows\ntkk.exe
    c:\windows\osuho.dll
    c:\windows\srpia.dll
    c:\windows\system32\apitr.exe
    c:\windows\system32\bpdns.dll
    c:\windows\system32\netqk32.exe
    c:\windows\system32\woqjr.dll
    c:\windows\system32\xnnzc.dll
    c:\windows\system32\HKDSK~1.EXE
    c:\windows\system32\apitr.exe
    C:\windows\system32\winpipe.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\?hkdsk.exe
    c:\windows\mfcrh.exe
    Registry::
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "Fkmq"=-
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "winstart"=-
    "mfcrh.exe"=-
    "winpipe"=-

    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Go to TDSSKiller and Download TDSSKiller.zip to your Desktop

    • Extract its contents to your Desktop so that you have TDSSKiller.exe directly on your Desktop and not in any subfolder of the Desktop.
    • Now double click the TDSSkiller.exe file to run it ( if using Vista or Windows 7 do not double click on it but rather, right click and select Run As Administrartor.
    • Allow the application to run and a window will open showing that it is TDSSkiller from Kaspersky
    • Click Start scan
    • It will run rather quickly and will notify you of whether anything is found or not.
    • Follow the instructions to delete/quarantine if asks you what to do when if finds something.
    Whether an infection is found or not, a log file should be created on your C: drive ( or whatever drive you boot from) in the root folder named something like TDSSKiller.2.1.1_27.12.2009_14.17.04_log.txt which is based on the program version # and date and time run. Please attach this log to your next reply. (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post )

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.
    • Has this gone now?
    • How are things running after removing all of that?
    • You need to install some anti-virus!!

    Two things, I didn't find the following:

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\zdoeo.dll/sp.html#12802%

    instead I saw

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINDOWS\ymcna.dll/sp.html#12802%

    Should I also delete the following:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blank
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blank

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    Download and run OTM.

    Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    Code:
    :reg
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentVersion\Run]
    "winpipe"=-

    :services
    Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper

    :files
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\apitr.exe
    c:\windows\system32\winpipe.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\lixxtyxn.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ocyxmqrx.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ofwa.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ozciprty.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\vflsoofi.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\vyvcrvnm.exe

    :Commands
    [emptytemp]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2782/4174320048_f01c448b32_o.png button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it into notepad, save it as something appropriate and attach it into your next reply.

    NOTE: If you are unable to copy/paste from this window (as will be the case if the machine was rebooted), open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and attach the contents of that document back here in your next post.

    Run this and attach the results.

    Using ESET's Online Scanner

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    Any better?

    Also, assuming hidden files and folders are indeed still set to show, please navigate to the following and tell me if they exist!

    Please run combofix again (not by dragging the script) just by running it (right click and run as admin of using win7 or vista)

    Attach the C:\combofix.txt into your next reply.
