I do not think that is necessary, however, experience has taught us that often times malware problems do not come in "ones". More frequently there are multiple problems. It would be in you best interest to be save and follow our standard cleaning procedures (don't skip anything). After doing it and coming out clean (or fixing to make you clean) then I would say you could feel more at ease. The step with HijackThis is only necessary if problems are found and not fixed by the scanning tools.

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.


After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
