Hey guys, first off asum forum. Second I need help, I am not sure what this thing is, last time it appeared to be a virus. And it disappeared until I reinstalled WinXP, and then after ever virus check or so, it would appear, disappear and then appear again.
Alright the problem is this, not sure if this is a malware or virus, but whatever it is it is annoying. What happens is I think its from the sound card (if speakers are turned off still happens) there is a constant beebing every second, and it will not stop unless the computer is turned off. At the moment it is not beebing (touch wood) but it starts randomly at different times, and it has happened four times in this last week, each time stoping for a day or two then starting up again.

Okay thanks! It was something new being tested in the forum software and was not supposed to be showing up yet.

This actually does not sound like a malware problem. It sounds more like a computer hardware issue. We can check your PC for malware if you wish, but you may want to check to see if there are any hardware problems in Device Manager.

If you want to check for malware, please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

Thanks, I just did it, so now I have to wait and see. What do you think the problem is if it isn't a virus or malware?

Then attach the requested logs so we can check them. Also tell us if there is any change.

Already stated in my last message:
