virus norton is unable to remove!

My pc is a Dell 4700, running XP, some how I picked up two files norton is showing as viruses, and not removing, ran adaware scan with no result as well.

These are the infected files:

C:\System Volume Information\_restore{7387F889-E675-41DE-BBBF-8F99B30F9357}\RP78\A0035207.dll

C:\System Volume Information\_restore{7387F889-E675-41DE-BBBF-8F99B30F9357}\RP75\A0035129.dll

I know it is the holiday weekend, and maybe it is a simple fix, anyway I seem to need some experienced help with manual removal.

Welcome to Major Geeks!

Those files you listed are in System Restore. No programs can remove files in System Restore. I'm sure that somewhere in your help files for Norton they mentioned this to you. You have to do the below to remove old restore points.

Disable System Restore ( see Disable And Enable System Restore)

Now reboot your PC

Now Enable System Restore using the same link as above

Appears to have worked, files are know longer showing up on norton scan!
