Hey i am new to this site.

I was wondering if one of you can help me, my computer seems to have been affected with a virus or spyware, the main one that keeps popping up is trojan.win32.startpage.adh, i have a blueyonder antivirus and firewall S/W package, and CW Shredder, but these do not sem to help, I have also right clicked on the start menu and made all of my files visable and turned off the system restore. then i ran the anti virus and spyware but it still did not work

Is there any tips on how to get rid of it again it is trojan.win32.startpage.adh

    Cheers Boys and Girls

Hi Adam and Welcome, I have moved your thread into the Malware forum as it will get the correct help & assistance from out resident malware specialists,

if you could Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis
    .

these steps may help remove the trojan but following the guide, but also just to double chekc please follow the instructions and Attach only the mentioned logs for checking :)

All the things on that link that you provided seemed to work all of the cleaning programs worked. and deleted spyware.

I then ran that bit defender and that picked out and sorted all the viruses, well it said it did. and i have run it since and it has not picked up anymore viruses which is good after that I also ran that panda scanner and that picked up viruses and i dont know which on is correct.

since i cleaned all my computer with the various S/W i have had no problems since and my computer is not picking up anymore viruses

I was wondering which scan was correct The bitdefender or the panda

    Cheers Adam

Hi Adam, best option just to make sure is to scan again with the tools Bitdefender, Panda and HJT and attach the resulting logs for one of our specialists to look through.
