Ok I started out with the ad-aware scans, spybot scans, ccleaner, and did the bitdefender but when I go and do the panda scan it wont let me download the active x or let me go any further, I have windows 98, this is an older computer, I am posting the bitdefender log and will run the hijack this, first look ever the bitdefender and let me know exactly what I am dealing with here.

    thankyou

Since you have Win98, you should be running CounterSpy before even getting to Bitdefender & Panda. Make sure you attach the CounterSpy log. Skip Panda for now.

Ok will run counter spy on my windows 98 computer and will attach, in the mean time I scanned my new computer that has windows xp, the only reason I did that was because of an e-mail that I received saying that I had a postcard from a family member but when I went to it it was a virus, well it said it was, I am attaching the bd scan and the panda scan and will run hijack this if you say to.

    thankyou

What debugging window? Please give specifics! If there are error message, please provide the exact word for word error message and error codes. Also if the Window has a title, give me the title.

Use Windows Explorer to locate the below files and delete them:
    C:\Documents and Settings\cheryl carney\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\5uy1l1b6.default\Cache\55CF026Ed01[hidewndw.exe]
C:\WINDOWS\JUSTIN2.exe[²èÇ] <---- I'm not sure what the ending characters may translate into in the file name.

Please complete step 7 of the READ & RUN me and attach a HijackThis log.

Ok I ran the HJT on my windows xp system and I am posting the log, I tried to look for the files that you wanted me to delete but they could not be found, do you think my norton took care of them? I do remember the norton popping up right after I opened my e-mail virus and it scanned the computer and did remove some files, but I had deleted them out of the quarantine so hopefully that took care of it, let me know if you see anything in my HJT log.

Okay! Let's getting something straighten out! Talk about only one PC and work on only one PC in a single thread.

My message was related to whatever PC you posted the logs for and I assume that this is a Windows 98 PC since that is what your first message indicated. It was also why I told you to run CounterSpy.

So why are you now attach a HijackThis log for a WinXP system. If you have multiple PCs that have malware problems, you must run the full READ & RUN ME procedure on each PC and attach the THREE requested logs for each PC and they should be posted in separate threads. And those threads should indicate what your problems are and should only talk about ONE PC.

So which PC are we working on in this thread? I can tell the HJT log is for WinXP but I have no idea about all the others. Please do not post anything at all until you have complete the COMPLETE READ & RUN ME procedure. We don't need or want incremental posts (i.e, Bitdefender only and then later another log, and then even later something else like HJT).

This is not a malware problem. It is how you have your PC configured.

From an Internet Explorer browser window on the top Menu click Tools, Internet Options, and then the Advanced tab.

Scroll down to Browsing and make sure you have a check in the below box:
    Disable Script Debugging

Does that help? Can you install CounterSpy now?

    thank you
    cheryl

    p.s.
I was able to download the counterspy to my desktop, it just wont let me install it.

Are you able to download and install other programs to this PC?
Did you complete all the other steps of the READ ME on this PC? If not, please work all thru from step 0 to 7.

Also I just want to make sure of something! We are referring to the Win98 system now.....is that correct. Let's only work on it right now.

I tried to run through all the steps but was unable to run the panda scan so you suggested the counter spy which I was unable to run, and yes I am able to download and install other programs on this computer just not the counter spy. anyother suggestions?

Okay but you did not specifically answer my other question. Excluding Panda and CounterSpy, did you complete ALL the other steps in the READ & RUN ME. If so, attach a HijackThis log for this Win98 PC.
