http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/3214/baticonvista7.gif I am attaching a .bat (ev_clear.bat) file I'd like you to run and attach the results of (fix_results.txt on your desktop)

    __

Then I want you to reboot the PC before following these next set of instructions:

    http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/3941/minitoolbox.gif Use MiniToolBox again...

    Checkmark following checkboxes:

    • List content of hosts
    • List IP configuration
    • List Winsock Entries
    • List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
    • List Devices -> Only Problems
Press Go and attach the result (Result.txt) that pops up. A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.

Ok, ran the EV_clear.bat, it opened a command window, but nothing was entered into it and it just stayed blank for a few seconds, and then closed. I wasn't sure anything happened so I ran it a few more times. I then rebooted and got both logs. Updating MBAM now

    Not seeing anything wrong here.

You say you have other devices that are able to connect to the same wireless network?

Is there anything else you tried to do to fix the internet connection on your own?

Yes, I am posting from my mini laptop that is connected currently, my cell phone is as well.

Before I found this site I tried a couple things that I had found when googling, I tried a few CFscript.fixes through combofix that I had found, none of which worked. Also, I tried adding a registry to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/services/Tcpip/Parameters/Interfaces

It was something like DhcpConnToggle..... I can't remember exactly because I went through and deleted them after it didn't work. I also tried all the normal things with the router such as resetting and waiting 20 seconds and all the diagnostic stuff on the computer.

I will be getting an ethernet sometime tonight so I will post my luck with that.

I would be interested to see if the wired connection would connect, but if you are able to connect to the same wireless network with different computers/devices then it should not be a problem with the wireless device.

You seem to have more Windows issues than of what is typical of this rootkit alone to cause. For instance, the fact that you cannot uninstall Service Pack 1 is not good.

You may have end up having to reinstall Windows :( We'll see.. I will keep trying to figure something out for you.

Some laptops have a toggle for Wireless ability. Usually it's a little switch you can move left or right near the front or sides of the laptop. Some others have an actual button that toggles orange/blue for off/on near the power button. I know it sounds basic but can you double-check that this is enabled?
