    ISP: Rogers Cable

Woke up today to my ISP completely disabling my connection. Gave them a call and they mentioned that I have some sort of server which is spamming the mail system or something along those lines. They say I have to have this virus/trojan/spyware removed, otherwise, they will not let me reconnect.

Problem is, I have no internet connection to connect to so I can upgrade my Anti-Virus/Spamware etc.

The only info I was given is that apparently its trying to send out info such as:

    rcn.net
    plc4v.com
    gate-way.net
    alehop.com
    mailaka.net

thats all Ive got from them. They claim if I say I fixed the problem, but really dont, my account will be suspended for a week.

So, suggestions on next step to take?

    Hi

You are going to need some sort of internet to download some of the tools necassary for removal of any malware, so maybe a friend can help in downloading any of the tool mentioned in the guide below, but the malware guys may have a better idea, but see how you go, ( Personally I dont know how your ISP thinks you can remove malware without the interent and some of the online virus scans availabe, plus not to mention the tools needed to remove malware??? )

Yes please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:

      • [*]runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
        [*]newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

While bumping your thread can do good in other fourm areas, in this one the guys that deal with all the malware questions start at the oldest thread first, so bumping your thread to the top will likely get it missed longer than usual, just a tip no more no less ;)
