I know a virus is bad but how does it actually work?
Does it stick itself to a file folder or program and when you do find a virus can you just delete what it is tagged to or does the anti software get rid of what it is tagged to also? Thanks for the info...

    Hi BBCCarguy,
There are many mechanisms. Some attach themselves to known programs. Some are executable files attached to emails which begin a sequence of steps when you click on them. Some are downloaded from the internet. If you have a real interest in the mechanics of how they work, you may want to take some time and join one of the schools which teach about this. The company which makes Spybot Search & Destroy is dedicated to training people and teaching. You can visit their website here: http://www.malwareremoval.com/
