virus?

    Hi there ...
    Here's a 'what should I try next?' question... I've never had pop-ups before but now I've got one that comes on over and over. It always says at the top: http://mtn6.com-com.ws advertisement - microsoft internet explorer.
    I bought Spyware Doctor and have run it several times - both full scan and the briefer one. Every time I run it it finds a 'threat' and removes it but the popups remain. I am not really versed in these things ... any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Thanks for moving my question to this forum. When running the CCleaner, they want $$ to register. Was that supposed to happen?
    I thought it was a free download.

    Hi TimW, and anyone else ...
    Thank you for your help today. I followed the malware removal instructions down through running SuperAnti Spyware, which apparently was what removed the problem. No pop-ups for a while now. If they come back, I'll know what to do.
