I tried going through your READ ME FIRST malware removal guide, and it seems its not for Win ME. When I downloaded Superantispyware it wouldn't open so I went to the Programs list as instructed to alternately open it from there, I was told it expects Win 2000 or newer. I had this program years ago and it started hanging up so I uninstalled it, but my systems getting worse with freezes/lags/IE errors so I wanted it back, it always was a good program. Is there an older version for Winme? I think not

    Superantispyware doesn't support Win ME

I've been trying to run Superantispyware for 2 days, doing everything I could find online to get it started. Nothing worked. I finally came across their 'Alternate start' in Programs. When I clicked on that, it said ' Superantispyware expected a new version of Windows'. I downloaded it from their website which clearly states it supports Win ME, which I have. What a waste of time and certainly not good for business.

    Hello, stephan08611

How much RAM do you have installed?

    In response-
    • We know that SAS states they support Win98 and WinME but apparently they do not or have not checked lately.
    • WinME is basically an unsupported dead operating system that even malware writers consider a waste of their time to infect it.
    • Having experienced it myself, WinME becomes flaky over a period of time and unless you are going to upgrade to a better operating system, typically the best solution is just to reinstall.

Thanks for replying, Watson. I have 320 MB RAM. I followed all the instructions for ME malware removal, my only issue was the Superantispyware. I did rename it SAS.exe, didn't work. I know there are viruses out there that stop anti-spyware programs from installing and I thought thats what it was., since I'm having issues updating Clamwin, too. But so is everyone else. Just turns out ME isn't supported anymore. I have 2 other comps with XP installed, but I had ME so long I got use to it. Guess its time for a change. Thanx again.
