I have this yellow icon on the bottom right corner of my computer that tells me that I have critical system errors. If I click it then another page opens and tries to download virus burster. In addition to that my google search engine no longer functions properly. Whenever I click on a search it redirects me to another search engine or website. Lastly, and this one may be a bit off the wall but I think it is all part of the same problem, when I try to log into myspace I am redirected to the screen that asks me to sign up for myspace as if I am a new user. On other computers I am able to log in just fine. Please Help.

Welcome to MajorGeeks.com, please follow our standard cleaning procedures:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifAfter doing ALL of the above and you still have a problem, make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below thread to properly use HijackThis and attach the log:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis
    • Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around..
http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifWhen you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
    • CounterSpy
    • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
    • Bitdefender - from step 6
    • Panda Scan - from step 6
    • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
    • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
    • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

I ran all of the steps. I was unable to succesfully do the sunjava in safe mode. I was able to do the counter spy in safe mode ,but I had to redo it in normal mode in order to save the log due to the fact that my screen would not show the button that said save log in safe mode. I still have the same issues with my computer. I can not get rid of the icon saying critical system errors, log into myspace, or use google to search, without google redirecting me to another website. Most recently I was redirected to profilelook.com.

    Download Pocket KillBox
    • Save it to your desktop or a place easy to find.
    • Do not run it yet
Now scan with HijackThis and check the boxes for the following entries:
( Make sure ALL browser windows are closed when you click FIX )

Again, make sure ALL browser windows are closed when you click FIX.

Next, run CCleaner to clean up cookies and temp files.

    Locate PocketKillbox
(Procede with this step even if they do not show in blue)

Now, Copy and Paste C:\WINDOWS\system32\jbtazy.dll into the box – If it exists, it will show up in Blue. Check the option to Delete on Reboot and Click the Red X and Yes to the confirmation message. A message will ask if you want to reboot now – Click YES and allow your PC to reboot.

    • If you get an error message about Pending Operations, just reboot your computer manually.

After you complete the above, REBOOT and proceed with the rest of this fix...

Once you complete all of the above, follow the steps in the thread below:
    WareOut Removal

Once you complete the thread above, procede with the next steps...

Next Reset Web Settings & Default Security Settings

    To Reset Web Settings:
Right click on your desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. Then click the Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.

If you do not have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, click Start, Control Panel (for some systems it may be Start, Settings, Control Panel), Internet Options, Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK

    To Default Security Settings:
Right click on your desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. Then click the Security Tab and click Default Level for Internet, Local Intranet, Trusted Sites, and Restricted Sites.

    Note for IE 7 users:
Select Internet Options, then the Advanced Tab and then the Reset button under Reset Internet Explorer Settings.

Finally, I would like you to flush your System Restore points. Please follow the instructions in the below:

    • Disable and Re-enable System Restore

    • Turn OFF System Restore to flush any bad Restore Points.

    • Then, follow the instructions at the bottom of the linked page to Re-enable the Restore Utility which will create a fresh restore point.
After you complete the above reboot once more and then scan with HijackThis and attach the new log.

Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now.

My google is working fine and the annoying pop claiming saying that my computer was infected is gone. I still have the myspace issue and that may be unrelated to spyware. I will email their tech support also. I have attached both requested logs.

    Your logs look good.

Can you elaborate on your MySpace problem?

Basically, when I try to log onto myspace from my home computer, instead of tkaing me to my homepage, it takes me to the page asking me to sign up for myspace. However, when I try to log on from other computers (at least 3) I am able to log on just fine. This is not the biggest problem seeing as how I can use myspace from work, but it would be nice to sit at home and myspace too.

I fixed the myspace issue. The page was on one off my restricted sites list. Thanks for all of your help.
