I am running a Vista 64 home box, which has been trouble free. I just noticed the PC was freezing after 30 minutes of idle. At first i thought it might be a sleep / wake up issue and I checked the device manager to make sure both my wireless keyboard and mouse (Logitech) were set to wake up from sleep; and they were. The next thing I looked at was the power settings, my normal setting is Recommended; display off in 15 minutes and sleep in 30 minutes with no screen saver. I left the box idle approximately 20-30 minutes and it was frozen; requiring a hard restart. Next I added the screen saver back and got the same result. I then changed the power settings to High performance, display stays on and no sleep and received the same result.
Currently the PC is set to Recommended mode and works as long it is not idle for a period of time. The only change on my PC was a automatic upgrade to Norton Internet Security V22.5.215 about a moth ago and the PC worked fine until just the past few days. I also searched the Norton Forum, but did not fine any issues posted.

The issue is resolved, I restareted the PC in safe mode and reset the mouse keybord and power settings. After a reboot all seem well. I found no reason of the problem, it appears to be a Windows WTF problem, that was cleared while testing.
