I am running vista basic and recently starting receiving the error "This application has failed to start becuase audioeng.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." At first the error only came up with AIM type programs, i tried re-installing them all and i still got the error. No i do not start up the programs at all but I recieve the error every 10 minutes or so.

I tried to google the error but got nothing... I have no sound :cry

    You have Vista, right?

    Run sfc /scannow:

Start orb, in the search box, type cmd, and his this key combination:

ctrl-shift-enter. This will open a prompt with admin rights.

Then type sfc /scannow. You may need a Vista CD to complete this.

The other alternative is to load the file yourself. It goes into C:\Windows\system32.

I have SP1, so DO NOT USE THIS, unless you do as well.
