Vista blues. I want my XP Pro

I have a new HP Pav with Vista OS. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED! with Vista! Can I install XP Pro. What are my options? When I contacted HP support (twice) the persons english was so bad I could barely understand. I'm not sure but i think he said my ethernet won't work if i install XP. And on HP site they only have vista drivers for my machine. Is there some way to make XP work on HP Pav a6407c, AMD Athalon dual core 64x2, Chipset GeForce Nvidia 6150SE nForce 430, MoBo Asus M2N68-LA (HP name Narra3-GL8E), (Integrated sound, video & ethernet) If I can get XP to work I'll put my own sound card and ethernet if need be. Thanks in advance for anyones responce.

 

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to put XP onto it. Just get a cd, pop it in and then do a format.

I'm pretty sure that XP would have drivers for your network card, which is all you would need to install all of the other drivers. Just in case, find an XP driver for your network card first and put it on some sort of removable media first.

I would suggest finding XP drivers for your hardware on the internet. There's a lot of stuff out there. driverguide.com is pretty good. In the case that you can't find any... umm yeah. I'd wait for more replies first.

 

Without knowing the hardware specs, there is absolutely no way you could make that an accurate assumption, EEEEDIOT.

The smart decision is locate drivers first, install later.
