I run vista (32 bit) on a Dell XPS-420-240ghz, Intel Core TM 2quad,4gb RAM etc.I am happy with Vista and happy with my computer. My question is:
Do I need to run a optimization program or software or are the tools within windows enough to do the job. I was talking with a Dell tech who suggested using one of these programs to keep it running well. I have read a lot online that much of this optimization hardware is hoax. One program however that has received rave reviews is a program called simply "TuneUp utilities".

    Thanks Much,

I suggest you download and run CCleaner, just google it, and run both the regular cleaner and the registry fix.

This app makes ALL the pc's I use it on atleast 5-10% faster at boot, general usage and shutdown.

Really short answer is no. You might want to use some clean-up utilities occasionally but that's about it IMO. Is Dell trying to sell you something?

    EDIT: There you are burrell.;)
