    hie guys!

I'm trying to delete a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_LNSFW1. I thought by right clicking on the lnsfw1 key and changing permissions to allow all for full control etc, i would be able to delete the key, this is where the nightmare starts, i get an error messege saying unable to save permission changes. i have tried uninstalling the dviver in the device manager and rebooted but i'm still having no joy in deleting the key . i was under the impression that vista registry would function like winndows xp. i also have user account control turned off and i have administator rights on the computer. PLEASE HELP:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry

Which group did you give full control to?

Everyone and owner rights. system has rights checked by default.

Try it from the built in admin account. It does not adhere to any UAC rules.

From cmd.exe w/ admin rights (start, type cmd.exe into search box and hold ctrl-shift while hitting ENTER)

net user administrator /active:yes to enable it
net user administrator /active:no to disable it when done

Try instead editing CurrentControlSet instead of CurrentControlSet001

Shouldn't we have him check and make sure he is using 001, and not 002?

Check the select key first, imo. Good idea, though.
