vista keeps restaring my router?

Hi All

I have installed Vista on a new machine, had some problems finding the right drivers but everything was running ok till I tried to add it to my home network. The problem is I have a belkin 4 port router and every time I turn the computer on that has vista on it it restarts the router and then keeps restarting it say every 10 or fifteen mins, I have tried giving it a static ip address thinking there may be a conflict but still the same.
When I go to network connection properties there are a few more things there like tcp\ipv4 that I use for a static ip but there are tcp\ipv6 and two things called link layers


Any help please as to why it keeps restarting the router
