Vista premium home sp1 64 bit

    I decided I had enough with all the petty problems I was having with Vista on my TOSHIBA P300 laptop so I decided to use my recovery disks and start anew. Bad mistake!

    Part way throught disk 1 I get the message " cannot read from the source file or disk" - PREINST5.SWM

    I decided to use the option SKIP and everything progressed till part way through the second disk when I got the instruction to shut down my PC - 10-FC06-0002.
    Help:confused
