vista side bar & task bar white

    Hi,

    Running Vista and my task bar instead of the Start button it is now a rec button, and the side bar is no longer opaque. Have done 3 system restores in safe mode but nothing changes. Ran adw cleaner and using avast..again can't revert it back. Any help would be appreciated. Also did a clean boot.

    Do you have the Vista install DVD? Did you try running sfc /scannow (with Avast turned off)?
