vista to xp

ok so a friend put a legal copy of vista on my pc... ugh! that wow doesnt start now.. am i able to go back to xp? any pitfalls? whats the best way to migrate back?

 

Why the heck was a friend installing an OS on your PC apparently against your wishes? .....I found this at the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

It basically says "save your personal files like music, photos, etc to a CD/DVD. Boot to your XP disc, format the hard drive, and install XP."
Duh. Thanks Microsoft.
Anyway... Lots of people have been dumping Vista in favor of returning to XP. I think this is mainly because Vista is too "different" and most people are very reluctant to use or learn anything new. In your case, it's due to a compatibility/software issue. Unfortunately, the Microsoft link is pretty much right... formatting the drive is more-or-less the only way to go back to XP. You might have better luck trying to get WoW to run by either re-installing it, or going to the Blizzard web site (Blizzard makes WoW, right?) and finding a fix or patch there....

 

Wow works fine on vista, as im using it, so likely other problems abound.
