I'm running VMWare Player 4 and have Windows Server 2008 setup as a guest OS for testing on my Windows 7 host machine. I also have Windows 7 as a guest on the same Windows 7 host. So to not be confused, I am running Server 2008 and Windows 7 guest OS's on my Windows 7 host machine using VMWare Player.

I have installed and setup the DHCP server on Windows Server, and it works and assigns IP's to my other workstations in my network at home, but I cannot get it to assign an IP address the the Windows 7 guest OS. It seems the Windows 7 guest OS is still getting an IP address from the host Windows 7 PC. How do you remedy this? There seems to be only 3 choices, NAT, Host Only and Bridged, which none of them seem like the likely choice for this. I'm beginning to think this is not possible with this setup unless I installed additional NIC's maybe.

Should note, I'm a novice in this area, but am enjoying learning this new field!

    Thanks
    Mike
