Hi, I made another thread about a month back for my PC. I didn't know that my thread got a reply.

This one is for the family laptop; I am not sure if it was me but I didn't browse the normal stuff that usually do on my personal PC. I am not that knowledgeable with what's being installed or browse on the laptop unless I did it.

I successfully did the walkthrough. The only one that gave me problems was the combofix and I skipped it. I couldn't disabled the bitdefender with the instruction given on the site for combofix.

I thought that there were no problems and seemed fine but I noticed that sometimes, that the site link I click on redirects me to a ad site. I would google something like palin and I click on the wikipedia link listed and google and it would go to something else. That's the problem that I noticed.

I have two logs for the superspyware. It was being a spaz and did it twice. I think I was up all night adn forgot I already did that step.

Anyways, this is what I got.

1. Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

NOTE: HJT may popup an error about the AppInit_DLLs line. Ignore it and click OK to continue.

After clicking Fix exit HJT.

2. Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop

Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.

Do not change any check box options!!

Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:

Registry Keys to delete:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{1FD79A59-37B1-459B-9097-09F9FAB8A523}

Registry values to replace with dummy:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows | AppInit_DLLs

Now click the Execute button.

Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.

Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.

Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.

A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

3. Now use Windows Explorer to delete some combofix remnants:

C:\Windows\system32\CF5594.exe

4. Also delete all files in the below folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP

C:\Documents and Settings\Thuan V\Local Settings\TEMP

5. Now download the latest version of Combofix and see if you are able to run it now. Overwrite the previous version with this fresh copy.

6. Now go to this MGTools and download the new version of MGtools.exe. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

7. Run the new MGTools.exe and attach the logs it produces: C:\mglogs.zip

8. Also attach the log from ComboFix if you were indeed successful in running it ---> C:\combofix.txt

9. Let me know how things are running now!
