I was having serious issues with super slow computer, 25 min bootup, scratchy sound from my speakers, then I started getting the fake virus removal popups, and ran all the malware removal instructions.

I went through the read me first instructions in detail, followed everything, I think it took about 12 hours in total, malewarebytes took about 3.5 hours to run!

I *thought* I caught everything BUT wasn't sure enough to do the restore toggle, however, I think that there is still something lingering. My reboots are still not totally smooth, but better than it was.

I feel like there is something lingering, and I'm right about ready to reformat just because I'm tired of dealing with the whole thing. :(

My logs are attached, however, I was unable to find the SASlog, so that one is not attached thanks in advance for any help, this forum has already been invaluable.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You did not attach the log from Malwarebytes.

    Please attach the two logs found here;
    Code:
    "C:\Documents and Settings\Rebecca\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\"
    mbam-l~1.txt Dec 19 2008 6317 "mbam-log-2008-12-19 (12-46-18).txt"
    mbam-l~2.txt Jan 11 2009 4677 "mbam-log-2009-01-11 (21-12-36).txt"

Also run SUPERAntiSpyware and select Preferences, Statistics/Logs, and select the log and click View logs. If you do not have one it means you did not run it so run it again and make sure you fix what it finds. The logs should always be saved automatically in the below folder.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Rebecca\Application Data\SUPERAntiSpyware.com\SUPERAntiSpyware\Logs

    Uninstall the below software:
Viewpoint Media Player <-- should have been uninstalled in step 1 of the READ ME

If your PC is still slow, it may not be malware! Most frequently it is due to what people have running and their PC specs. Please explain what operations are slow! For example answer the below:

    • Is boot up slow?
    • Is shutdown slow?
    • Is browsing/surfing slow?
    • Is downloading slow?
    • Is running any application?
    • Is it also slow in safe boot mode?
    • Also are any process showing in Task Manager to be using a lot of CPU time?
    • Anything else slow?
