wallpaper disappeared

A couple of strange things here: I right clicked the desktop to change my screen saver settings; I changed the time only; from 10 minutes to 30 minutes before the screensaver would kick in. I clicked OK. When The Display Properties window closed, my wallpaper was gone and was replaced with just a plain blue background. It was a file named "dsc01842". The file is still listed in the desktop list, but running an advanced search for it brings up nothing. And now when I right click on my desktop I get an error (attached below) and I have to click Cancel 2 or 3 times before the Display Properties opens, and then the error continues to come up while the window is open. But if I go thru the Control Panel to Display Properties, I don't get the error.... What's up with that?

EDIT: And one other thing- when I shut down, restart, or log off, my original wallpaper (the file 'dsc01842') flashes for a second or two.... :confused
