Walmart Humor

I was at Walmart yesterday getting something for lunch. Now, I carry a small metal LED flashlight and a metal pen in the side pocket of my carpenter pants when I am running around doing my summer work. When I walk, they rub together and make a squeaking sound.
As I walked up to the checkout, there was a lady finishing her transaction. She looked around and asked what the squeaking sound was. I apologized and told her that it was me. I said that I had a hip replacement a couple years ago, and whenever we get the weather that we were having at the time, the titanium socket dries out and squeaks until I oil it. :-D
She immediately became concerned, said, "Oh my god! I am so sorry. Is it painful??"
Now, I could have come clean right then, but I didn't want to tick her off, so I replied, "I can bear it, ma'am. Thank you for your concern."
She took her receipt, walked off and it was then my turn at the checkout. The checkout clerk was laughing almost hysterically at this point. She could not believe that the woman believed me, and thanked me for giving her the laugh of the day!
