Want to know how cool my wife is??

This year marks Jean and my 20th anniversary (in fact it is Oct. 26th). As an anniversary present she has given me one of the best presents a guy could ask for. 20 years ago I left a lady in California, I had dedicated nearly 4 years of my life to this lady and was utterly committed to her. Alas I could not make a life-long committment to her though and I left in 1983. There has been many times since I left that I wished to go back and visit her. I even wanted to take my wife and children with me when I went back! My wife has been very much aware of the fact that I always wanted to go back and that I could never figure a way to do so. Well, it seems as if my wife has been planning a trip for me and her to San Diego to visit this lady. Talk about being selfless. I truly love my wife and all that she does for me. This surprise was so great that I was speechless for about 10 minutes. We leave for San Diego on Oct. 12 and get back on Oct. 16th. Even though I know my wife does not visit these forums I just have to say I love you Jean.



BTW, the lady in question here that we are going to visit is the U.S.S. Belleau Wood (LHA-3). She gets decommissioned this year and as it was my pleasure to serve on her, it'll be my pleasure to see them retire her as well.
