Anyone Else Getting Suspicious of AOL?

At first I was blissfully ignorant, then I became "Internet Paranoid", now I'm just plain pissed off! Recently, McAfee Visual Trace picked up "SyncPort attacks as originating from AOL. Specifically, AOLTech ARIN. When I report this to AOL, I'm brushed off without even getting an answer from them.
So.., I downloaded a few Moniters and independant,(other than AOL supplied programs) and guess what? It shows AOL rooting around my System, looking thru Recently opened files and applications. I have questioned AOL about this and get the same answer---Deafening Silence---.
AOL Coach which AOL loaded silently and AOL SYStem information, and Explorer, brought to you by AOL, seem to be the worst for using "hidden" System requests to use Proxy to retrieve Personal information. Has anyone else seen this, "or is it just me?".

 Go to the lower right hand corner of your screen. See blue AOL Icon?
Right click, select System Information. Now click either App Folder or Data Folder, and Vola! Every folder and file in your system is suddenly exposed to anybody at AOL who cares to look! Aol uses this nifty little feature in the name of "Better Service". I queried AOL on this a few times. I was told by Techs that they use this to insure quality service, and they never open any of the other files. RRRIIIIGGGHHT. Other than what?
Careful folks, Big Brother IS looking. (Why would AOL need to open your "My Documents" folder?) Why does a service provider need any of your personal files? I had one AOL Tech actually tell me not to worry about it, and at the end of the session ask me to give him an "excellent rating!
Oh..., and don't try to stop them accessing, they'll temp. deny service buy not displaying web pages. At least until you open a hole in your firewall.
Major Geeks.com is a great place to find things AOL(SPY) has hard time getting thru. Password protection, independant firewalls,(other than McAfee!),
and Registry protection,(AOL loves to mess with the Registry) etc. Just thought you uoght to be aware.

Yes, C:\ opens up to AOL like an obedient puppy. Complete with the ability to tree the entire directory,(open all folders, sub-folders and files). You can access any of your files from AOL System information, so can AOL's Techs. We'd all like to trust that they would never look into our personal files,(nor sell that info to anyone offering a price, or Time Warners Pet Companies). But this is the real world. This goes even deeper when you look into Internet Explorers Spy Robots, ie. "Recently Opened...,".
Even scarier when you can see the "hidden" Shared Applications they use. Download majorgeeks.com offer of Outpost Firewall. Catches AOL in the act everytime they try to use "hidden" applications. But you can't stop it. They will just not connect you to the web if you attempt to. It is WRONG, but you won't get an answer from AOL. One Tech did try to help, after she passed a copy of a traced attack 'SyncPort Attack to her supervisor, originatting from AOL, I sent her, I never heard from her again tho she promised an answer. I have to be clear here, if you attempt to block AOL from access to these files they use other means, and will prevent you from, until they get renewed access, surfing and displaying web pages. AOL's arrogance in this matter is frustrating at the least. I wouldn't have known any of this if I didn't start trying to find answers on my own. I realize this all sounds "Paranoid" as hell. But when you see what I've seen, well I wish I had never taken the "Blue Pill"! (Matrix). More people should know these things.
