Hi i bought warhammer online yesterday only to realize my computer couldn't run it:cry i started it up and after i logged in all i could see was my character and the rest was black.

    I have a Optiplex GX260 motherboard
    2.4 ghz cpu
    1g of ram
then i just have a built in sound card i think its soundMAX digital aud

I don't know much about computers but I'm looking for upgrades or a new computer that will run warhammer online. If my motherboard can take a good video card to run it then i will probably do that if it can't then i will most likely get a new one and im wondering if my cpu will be enough to handle the game or should i get a new cpu too?

I don't want it to be very expensive i just want to play my game :-D

What is your budget, and what are the exact specs of your current setup? AMD or Intel CPU? If you are using the onboard video, you might can get away with some extra RAM and an inexpensive video card to tide you over.

But if it is an older system, I would not put too much $'s or €'s in it. You can build a really nice gaming righ these days for around $800.

i have an intel cpu i want to spend as least money as i can and my video card is a
nvidia geforce FX 5200 i definatly don't want to spend $800

more ram you said i think i could probably do that but what would you think is my best thing to do get a new motherboard and video card or just a new videocard if my motherboard can handle it. Also will my sound card be able to handle warhammer online?

Go here: Game-o-meter and run it. It will tell you if you can play the game at all, and if not, what you need to upgrade.

And to echo Fred, please, for the love of gaming, give us your system specs. How on earth are we supposed to help you if you don't give us anything to work with?

Though to be honest if you're trying to do resource heavy gaming on an Optiplex GX260, there might not be anything anyone can do to help you out...

Everest would have saved the report as a text file. Go find that file. Then attach it to your post using the buttons highlighted in this picture. The buttons show up when you go to reply in Advanced Mode. :)

If it doesn't work, tell us why with as much detail as possible, and we'll work around this until we get the report.

The first thing that stands out is that it says you have no Service Pack installed. Windows XP has three service packs out... are you sure your operating system is fully up to date? If it isn't please update immediately.

    Okay, let's see....

The game needs a minimum of 2GB of RAM, you have 1GB. It needs a 2.5GHZ processor, yours is 2.4GHz. Your graphics card just meets the minimum requirements, at least on paper, so you technically don't need to upgrade that.

You need a new processor and more RAM. In a proprietary computer like yours upgrading anything other than RAM is very difficult, and it will probably be a lot easier for you to simply buy a new one--one that is actually built for gaming.

I agree with Mimsy. You have 4x AGP. That is oldschool stuff. :( You can build a pretty inexpensive rig these days that will blow your current one away!
